VEP8A beacon is released directly from its device and launches 406MHz emergency distress signal immediately when a vessel is in distress.  Once the distress signal is received by COSPAS-SARSAT satellite system, it will be transmitted to the shore-based terminals.

Local terminals will decode the distress signal to show the location of the beacon and to give the information to nearby search and rescue control centers to provide immediate emergency rescue operations.

VEP8A EPIRB’s integral 50 channels and GPS receiver gives a position accuracy of 30m significantly reducing the normal search distance and added AIS location transmitter provide timely location signals to adjacent ships for rescue.

VEP8A EPIRB complies with the latest international standards (CCS/CE)
